An Independent Evangelical Church to which all are welcome.

Services: Each Sunday 10.30 Morning Service.  Communion is included on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. On the First Sunday of each month there is an invitation to come along to Christ Church to find out what we are about. There is an invitation to lunch following the service. Creche/Sunday Clubs are run during the morning service for all children up to school leaving age.

ST SWITHUN'S CHURCH, WOODBURY  

The Parish Church has recently become part of the White Cross Mission Community, a group of seven churches which includes the daughter Church - St Andrew’s at Exton.  Services are held in St Swithun’s every Sunday.  For times and details see the Church Notice Board or visit www.whitecross devon.org.uk.

Coffee Mornings take place from 10.30 – 11.30 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays in the month. The first of these is usually held in someone’s home while the second is held either in the Church Rooms or in Church. The 100 Club draw takes place on the second occasion.  Come for coffee and a chat.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

 

Administered by East Devon District Council.  Situated off Town Lane and Parkway comprising 54 bungalows and a flat - there is a large furnished kitchen and spare bedroom which can be rented for visitors by any member.  An intercom system connects the residents either with the warden or with Home Safeguard system at Lymbourne, Sidmouth and gives residents 24 hour emergency cover.  There is an active Social club to which affiliated members are welcome. Coffee mornings and outings are arranged – anyone may attend these.  The mobile support officer visits 3 times a week and speaks on the intercom every other day.

NURSERY EDUCATION

Baby and Toddler Music Classes for babies aged 12 weeks to children aged 3 years.  Fun structured classes in Topsham every Tuesday morning and Exmouth every Monday and Wednesday mornings.  Contact: Karen 0708 953169.

 

Little Acorn Pre-School for children (admitted in the term they are 3 up to 5 years)  A small, friendly group where children can make friends and learn through play.  Daily outdoor play (weather permitting), planned activities for learning in a fun, positive way and regular music sessions.  Close links with Woodbury Salterton C of E School.  Sessions held Mon, Tues, Weds and Fri from 09.00 - 12.00 daily, lunch club until 13.00 in Woodbury Salterton Village Hall.  Contact: Mrs Catherine Holt 239083 / 0785 4241826.

 

Little Acorns Toddlers Group runs 10.00-12.00 every Thursday morning in Woodbury Salterton village hall (opposite the school).  A friendly and fun group which welcomes pre-school children and babies.  Arts/crafts, music, singing and snacks.  £1.75 per child then 25p per sibling.  Contact:

 

Maytree Baby and Toddler Group, Woodbury Village Hall

For all children birth to 3 years.  Meets every Wednesday morning 09.30-11.00.  An opportunity for mums with young babies and children to meet whilst their children play, including singing and craft activity.  Contact: Vicky 239056.

 

Maytree Pre-School, Woodbury Village Hall  Registered for 24 children, ages 2 years 8 months to 5 years.  The group provides opportunities for children to meet together regularly to learn, express, experiment and develop through play.  It is a parent run and led charity group.  Chairperson: Ann Frayling 233845, Supervisors: Claire Honour, Sue Bateman, Alison Brockbank, Assistant: Dawn Reed.  Sessions held Monday to Friday 09.00 - 12.00, lunch club available, 12.00 - 13.00.  Wednesday. 09.00 - 15.30.

 

National Childbirth Trust: Bumps, Babes & Toddlers – a small and friendly coffee group for all new parents and parents-to-be meeting on Fridays 09.45 – 11.00 in each other’s homes in Woodbury, Exmouth and Budleigh.
