This panoramic picture was taken from the top of St. Swithuns Church tower on midsummer day 2001 by Roger Stokes

It was taken by circumnavigating the square topped tower and placing the camera on each battlement in turn. This was necessary because the tripod would not go high enough above the battlements to see the ground!  Luckily the top of the tower was absolutely level, but it was not easy to remember where the last shot finished!  The 25 individual shots were then electronically merged into a 360º panorama.
